Individual Lessons

• Each student, whether a child or adult, is an individual. I look for what teaching style speaks best to each student. I tailor the lessons to excite and inspire the student in their musical journey.

• I was trained by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki in Japan. After two years of study at his Talent Education Institute, I graduated as a certified Suzuki Violin Teacher. I also teach Royal Conservatory and add music that is important to the student such as, but not limited to, holiday, folk, pops and church music.

• A parent attends lessons with the child and learns the basic skills, takes notes and serves as the at home coach. Parents are welcome to get their own violin and learn along with the child. There is no extra charge for the parent to learn with the child.

• As the child advances, matures and learns to read music, the parent’s role diminishes. When the three of us agree the time is right, the parent may no longer be required to attend the lessons.

• 32 individual 30-minute lessons September - June

• 10 monthly group lessons

• 1 fall recital

• 1 spring recital

• $145 paid the 1st of each month September - June

• Annual family registration fee $35

• Extra costs may include violin rental, supplies, music books

Group Lessons

• Group Lessons are held once a month. They are an integral part of the Suzuki approach and reinforce concepts learned in individual lessons. They provide a fun environment where students can practice skills with their peers. Seeing other students' accomplishments and making new friends can be highly motivational. Also, group lessons help develop ensemble skills, which are important for playing in larger groups and orchestras.

Online Lessons

• If school is cancelled due to inclement weather, your lesson will be held online at the regularly scheduled time. Lessons missed due to illness will be made up.
